3-D Stereoscope Bookmarklet

Here is a stereoscopic image animator bookmarklet that you can use to view 3-D stereoscopic images. Jut follow these steps:

  1. Bookmark the link in the paragraph above, for example by dragging it to your bookmarks toolbar.
  2. Find a stereoscopic image. Flickr is a great place to start searching. Here is a link to a cityscape of Montreal to get you started.
  3. Right-click on the image and choose “View Image” from the context menu.
  4. Click on the bookmark to start the animation.

Note that a lot of older stereoscopic images (like, daguerreotype kind of old) have thick borders on the outer edges, and won’t work with the bookmarklet. It works best with images that have no borders at all.
